No blog post this week, sorry. I've been sleeping very badly recently and can't think straight. Here is a photo of some pumpkin-shaped dim sum instead (taken at Shanghai Blues in Holborn).

Both good questions to which I do not know the answer! The dim sum were deep-fried, I think, and they had pumpkin in as well as being pumpkin-shaped. The menu just said "Mini golden pumpkin (齋南瓜仔)".

Re pigs... I can't actually remember! I have been leaving presents in several people's houses. I do remember leaving someone some pig eggs... or were they seasoned beans... I honestly am not sure :)

By pumpkin...do you mean pumpkin in the Western sense, or kabocha, which is what we tend to mean with the term 南瓜?

Well, I saw two piles of meat in my garden, so I assumed that two pigs had died...and since there was one still living, I thought that you might have given me a pig! XD

Another good question to which I do not know the answer! There wasn't really enough squash in it to be able to distinguish. The menu on their website has the additional description "fresh pumpkin juice pastry, filled with pumpkin and chopped Chinese mushrooms", which doesn't really help either.

Re pigs/meat... perhaps I gave you some meat! Or perhaps I emptied your meat collector (which is more likely).
