Reading Chinese Menus: Concepts: Buying Chinese ingredients online — recommendations?

A very quick post today — I've been away for a long weekend, so I'm behind on everything and don't have the energy to write much!

I'm compiling a list of places to buy Chinese ingredients online. Does anyone have any personal recommendations? I'm in the UK, but I'm also interested in places that will deliver elsewhere.

If you have any questions or corrections, please leave a comment (here's how) and let me know (or email me at kake@earth.li). See my introductory post to the Chinese menu project for what these posts are all about.

Hey

When Mr Thipe was in Cricklewood we used to use Wing Yip's supermarket, which also has an online store - I haven't used it online, but their hypermarkets were pretty reasonably priced.

I was also going to suggest SeeWoo (which is where we get sacks of Japanese rice as it's the cheapest place in central), but sadly they don't have an online store, just a list of stock.

Hope that helps :)

I second the vote for Wing Yip; it's where we get all our east and southeast Asian food these days, although we've never ordered from their online store so I don't know what their service is like.

I also second the vote for See Woo; when I was relying on Chinatown supermarkets, it was my favourite of the 3. The 2 in the centre of Chinatown always felt very tourist-y; See Woo (at least at the time) had a better, more authentic selection and was cheaper too.
