As I blogged about last month, we recently identified a long-standing bug that was sometimes letting objects be put inside containers when they shouldn't have fitted due to length and width restrictions.
For the past two weeks, the MUD has been giving a WARNING to anyone who managed (due to this bug) to put an over-large item inside a container it shouldn't fit into. This was done in order to let people check whether they had been unwittingly taking advantage of this bug, and if so, to make any necessary adjustments ahead of time.
The warning has now been removed, and the full bugfix has been deployed, so these over-large items will now refuse to fit.
If you find that you have things that don't fit inside things any more, and you're absolutely sure that they should fit (i.e. they are not too long or wide, and they're also not too heavy or numerous for the remaining capacity of the container), please either (a) talk to a liaison and show them the items that are refusing to fit, or (b) make a bug report (but talking to a liaison might well get you a faster answer).

The Fix Is In

This month's Bugfix Weekend involved fixes across the Disc. Below are some of the most noteworthy:
* Mrs Cosmopilite's branch in Holy Wood has begun to rotate its stock a little more frequently.
* The dogs from Peter Periwinkle's pet shop will now respond to a wider range of souls (try barking and howling at them, for example). Also, a bug has been fixed that was making some of them try to pick up things from the floor that were too heavy; those that do pick things up will now target lighter items instead. Moreover, they should no longer pick up corpses of dogs (they may pick up corpses of other animals though, which is not a bug).
* Wearable pets will now respond properly to being identified (i.e. with the "identify" command). (If yours is not doing this, either wait until the next reboot or make a bugrep on the pet and we'll make sure it gets updated.)
* The divine vestments ritual will now work properly on a wider range of items. If you find an armour item that it refuses to work on, please make a bugrep on the item (not the ritual).
* The cobbler in the Harbour Market of Ephebe is now more clear about the fact that if you want any shoes from him, you will have to order them.
* Arcane transport NPCs now correctly apply their 50% discount for all newbies.
* The Addictometer Imp has undergone a period of retraining and can now be persuaded to "reset" the date he uses to calculate someone's level of addiction. He doesn't like doing this so will take much longer before recognising their achievements. He is currently looking for 2400 hours of commitment from those who have used this new function.
